The helmet has a strong, clear signature from Tyrone in black sharpie pen and he has also inscribed his team number, “38, ” as well as “XXXVIII” and “XXXIX” commemorating his Super Bowl seasons. The helmet is for display only and it is not intended for competitive use. Tyrone Poole is a former cornerback who played 13 seasons in the NFL between 1995 and 2008. Tyrone was drafted by the Carolina Panthers and played there for 3 seasons, prior to playing two seasons with the Indianapolis Colts. He then joined the Patriots and was a starting quarterback on the 2003 team that went 14-2 and beat the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl XXXVIII. Tyrone was the Patriots starting cornerback through the first six games in 2004 when he was injured and didn’t play the rest of the season. The Patriots won another Super Bowl that season and Tyrone was awarded another Super Bowl ring, though he did not play in the game. He played five additional seasons both with the Patriots and several other teams before retiring in 2008. This beautiful throwback helmet is emblematic of the Patriots Championship seasons in 2003 and 2004 and it would make a great gift for any Patriots or NFL football fan.
